Bill Schwegler–President, CEO and co-founder, brings proven executive entrepreneurial experience to Fyreplug. Before starting Fyreplug, he was the co-founder of deCarta Inc. and its first President and CEO. deCarta is the leading provider of geospatial software platforms for personal navigation and enterprise location-based service (LBS) applications. As President, he had full P&L responsibility, developed business strategies and directed Finance, Sales, Marketing, Software Engineering, Support, and Administration functions. He led the team that raised over $25 million from strategic investors and participated on teams raising over $10 million from leading venture capital firms. He also led the sales teams that closed partnerships and developed business relationships with with Google, Yahoo!, Ford Motor Company and H3G/3.
Ann Cowan–Vice President of Technology and Product Development and co-founder. Ann Cowan is responsible for all aspects of Fyreplug’s technology requirements and product development. Ann has been responsible for many successful software products in the areas of geospatial solutions, digital rights management, secure content distribution (including music, video and text), e-commerce, asset management, database management systems, application development tools and new media tools and applications. Prior to Fyreplug, she served as Vice President of Engineering of deCarta, where she was responsible for delivering deCarta software products as well as technical support. Prior to deCarta, she held executive positions, including Senior Vice President of TrustNet at InterTrust, Director of Engineering at Silicon Studio, a subsidiary of Silicon Graphics Corporation, Director of OpenIngres, the product development team at ASK/Ingres (now Computer Associates).
